How Casino Online Reviews is paid

Reviewed by the CasinoOnlineReviews deskUpdated Written for readers in the United States

Reading this site costs nothing. The work behind it — testing rooms, checking terms, rewriting pages when an operator changes something — is paid for largely through affiliate agreements with some of the casinos we review. Below: which links pay, and what they change for you as a reader.

Who receives the money

Commissions are paid to Mizzenline Digital Media Limited, Heritage House, Ocean Village, Gibraltar GX11 1AA, the company that publishes the site. They cover the editorial desk, the checks and the hosting.

How to spot a paid link

Every "Visit casino" button points at a path of ours in the form /go/brand; that path hands the visitor over to the room. Those links carry the rel="sponsored" attribute, so search engines can see they are commercial too.

On the way through, the hop drops two brief cookies (see the privacy policy) and tags the visit with our partner code. It does not pass your name, your email or anything else that identifies you.

How a commission is worked out

It depends on the agreement with each operator: a flat bounty per verified sign-up, a revenue share on what referred players lose, or both together. The rates are confidential and change over time.

It costs you nothing. Our cut never comes out of your deposit or your cashouts, and the welcome deal is identical to the one on the room's front page.

What the agreements influence

An agreement decides whether a review carries a button to the operator. It does not buy a score, a finding or a position in a ranking: the order of a list is the order the scoring produces, as our About page explains.

Rooms with no agreement are reviewed and listed on the same terms, and a paying room can still get a critical review or land on the blacklist if its terms or payout record earn it.

One click, step by step

You finish a review and press "Visit casino". Your browser opens a /go/ address on our domain, which within a fraction of a second sends you on to the operator's landing page with our reference code. Sign up and clear KYC, and the room credits the referral to us and settles with the publisher under the contract.

If you close the tab, sign up days later on another device or type the operator's address by hand, the link is usually lost and nothing is paid.

When an agreement ends

Agreements run for a term and either side can end them. When one ends, the button may disappear or change, while the review stays up and is updated like any other. A review without a button is not a bad mark, and a button is not a recommendation to gamble.

What we do not do

  • Publish text written by an operator as if it were our own.
  • Present gambling as a source of income.
  • Put /go/ links on the Responsible play, Contact or Privacy pages.

You choose the route

You never have to use our buttons. Read the review, close the tab and find the casino on your own; the information is just as useful and we will not know. None of our guides, banking pages or bonus explainers requires you to sign up anywhere.

Why this page exists

Someone comparing casinos on our recommendation deserves to know who profits when they click. Federal consumer-protection guidance in the US expects endorsements with a financial tie to say so plainly, and we would rather over-explain than leave a reader guessing. If any page on the site leaves the commercial side unclear, tell us and we will fix the wording.
