Regulated and offshore sportsbooks alike have begun promoting minute crypto payout offers. But the speed and reliability of these promised instant withdrawals depend on the platform, the method, and the approval timeline.
Multiple reports identify a wide range of payout times for cryptocurrency withdrawals at various betting sites. BetOnline, Bovada, MyBookie, BetUS, and XBet are frequently cited as sportsbooks offering fast crypto payouts, with some sources claiming speeds as quick as 10 minutes once the withdrawal request is approved.
However, the timeline for approving a withdrawal varies: BetWhale mentions an average of under two hours, MyBookie and BetOnline tout timeframes from under 10 minutes to a few hours, and other sources peg average approvals at 24 hours or sometimes as much as 48. Bovada even separates deposit and crypto withdrawal windows, noting that withdrawals specifically take 1-24 hours.
The sportsbooks publishing the fastest crypto payout speeds are focused offshore. "No regulated U.S. sportsbooks currently support crypto deposits or payouts," reported industry sources. But offshore platforms like MyBookie, BetOnline, and XBet are openly courting bettors who can receive cryptocurrency.
Tested Withdrawal Speeds at US Sportsbooks
Recent tests show major U.S. sportsbooks like DraftKings, FanDuel, Fanatics, BetMGM, bet365, Caesars, and Hard Rock Bet all offered instant withdrawal options through some combination of online bank transfer, Apple Pay, or credit card.
"In our hands-on tests, DraftKings, FanDuel and Fanatics achieved instant withdrawals every time via online bank transfer. BetMGM, bet365, and Hard Rock Bet executed withdrawals instantly with Apple Pay," one industry report noted.
This could explain the disconnect between reports of crypto payouts and the reality of U.S. sports betting. Regulated sportsbooks, which are bound by state approvals and processing steps, don't seem to support cryptocurrency withdrawals -- but their instant withdrawal options provide a similar experience for their users. By contrast, offshore crypto-focused sportsbooks are freely touting their sub-24-hour crypto withdrawals to attract bettors who can work around regulations.
Bettors shouldn't expect a completely seamless payout experience even at the fastest sites. "Many sportsbook operators pride themselves on speedy payouts, but getting these payouts on time still largely depends on platform rules and authentication methods like KYC," noted a recent sports betting column.
Crypto payouts are only as fast as the review process, these sources suggest. Bitcoin in particular, while praised for nearly instantaneous withdrawals at some sites, can take 10-60 minutes. Lightning Network and stablecoins like USDC and USDT may allow even faster settlements, depending on the platform.
The variability between advertised claims, tested timelines, and real-world performance may confuse those hoping for instant payouts. At the same time, regulated U.S. sportsbooks' instant bank transfers and credit card payouts have far more users and support than crypto withdrawals do, suggesting that the vast majority of bettors can avoid crypto entirely and still achieve similar payout speeds.
Those who prefer cryptocurrency or who use offshore sportsbooks have new options for quickly withdrawing their wagers. But bettors should continue to monitor these instant payout promises and verify crypto availability specifically before depositing at any sportsbook.
