Cheating at Craps: Risk and Reward

Craps Game Cheats

1: The Loaded Dice

A pair of dice are the objects of play in a game of craps; therefore, manipulating the dice is one of the common methods for cheating at craps. The dice are also handled by the players for most of the game, which makes it even easier for dishonest players to switch out the casino’s dice for one of their own. We call this a ‘loaded dice’ and refers to a dice that has been tampered with in some way or another. You place the dice in your palm tightly and switch it with the original dice without anyone noticing. This move must be swift and takes a lot of practice to perfect.

Using shaved or sanded dice is another way of cheating at craps using the loaded dice strategy. This involves sanding the dice with sandpaper or shaving off tiny pieces of the dice. Because certain sides of the dice have been altered, so the dice will likely land on those sides compared to untouched ones.

Some casinos have caught up to these tricks by producing branded dice with unique logos and other identifiable features. This comes to promote fair play amongst all participants. Casino security is also making it increasingly difficult for players to enter a game with suspicious objects.

2: Making Late Bets

Making late bets is a popular method for cheating at craps and other casino games. This cheat technique requires that you place your bet after the dice have been rolled, and the outcome is known using sleight of hand. However, a craps table usually has a stickman, a boxman, and two dealers that facilitate the game, which makes this cheating method highly ineffective.

3: Stealing

Once again, stealing is a terrible thing, and we do not encourage you to steal, but the fact is many players have been successful with cheating at craps through stealing. This is also one of the easiest ways to cheat. This cheating does not disadvantage the house. Instead, players steal chips from one another when the others aren’t looking. Sometimes things can get rowdy around the craps table, and many players can lose focus. While some players are looking at the dice and getting excited, others see this as an opportunity to steal. This is even more effective when you are playing against inexperienced players with little knowledge of the game.
