Busting Myths in Roulette

Myth 1: Roulette is the Devils Game

If you add all the numbers on the roulette wheel, they amount to 666 in total. Those acquainted with their bibles will know that the book of Revelations speaks of the mark of the beast (also called the Antichrist) which is the number 666. Based on this coincidence, many consider roulette to be cursed by Satan himself. Roulette is also very popular in Las Vegas, a city otherwise known as ‘Sin City’.

Myth 2: Betting Lucky Numbers Guarantees a Win

Many people believe in lucky no. 7 and therefore choose to place several bets on this number. Many also consider the birth dates of loved ones, or numbers that have won them something in the past and even in previous games to be lucky.

However, the online roulette wheel has no memory or ability to recollect, making every spin random. One of your lucky numbers may pay out a few times, but it may not pay out for an even longer period after that too. Therefore, relying on these aren’t your best bet.

Are casinos rigged? This is one of the most common questions asked. There have been some rigged roulette wheels found at backwoods casinos in the past, but besides those few isolated cases, the roulette wheel remains unpredictable.

Myth 3: Casinos Ban Players Who Win Too Much

Although the thought of someone being banned for being lucky is a funny one, this is simply not true. Casinos cannot ban players for being lucky or winning ‘too much’. Realistically speaking, there are more players who lose at roulette than there are players who win, which makes the casino the biggest beneficiary either way.
