Year of Fortune Slot Review

Year of Fortune (aka Year of the Ox) is an online slot machine from Realtime Gaming that first appeared online back in 2009. This is a progressive jackpot online slot machine that has a Chinese New Year/Chinese/Ox theme with 5 reels and 25 winning paylines. The second highest valued ‘regular’ symbol on the reels is the Building and five if these showing up across any of the paylines will award a massive 8,888 coin prize.

How to Play Year of Fortune

The highest-valued symbol is the God of Wealth Progressive Jackpot Symbol and when five of these show up across any of the active paylines you will instantly be awarded the Progressive Jackpot, which at the time of writing is worth more than $21,059. Just four of these showing up across any of the paylines will also trigger an 8,888 coin prize. The Wild Symbol is the Golden Ox and the Scatter Symbol is the Year of the Ox Logo.

The Wild Symbol will substitute all of the symbols on the reels apart from the Scatter Symbols and they will only ever land on reels 2, 3 and 4 (the three centre reels). These Wild Symbols will double all line wins whenever they help to form a new line win.

The main Bonus Feature on this slot is a Free Spins Bonus Round and this will trigger when three or more of the Scatter Symbols land in any position across the reels. Once triggered you will be awarded a total of 8 Free Spins and this Free Spins Bonus Round will be played on a different set of reels which has as many as 88 winning paylines. Any line wins that occur during this bonus round will automatically be multiplied by 2x, but only when a Wild Symbol has helped form a line win. Free Spins can also be retriggered.
